8/3/08 To the Editor, One thing you can say about our nation’s Liberals is that they never change. That pretty much says all that needs to be said about Obama’s campaign mantra: “CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN”. But I am going to get a little deeper into what I believe is the very sinister reasoning behind the Democratic Party’s use of the term “CHANGE” in this presidential campaign as well as past campaigns like Clinton’s. First: Change has a different meaning for everyone. Most voters are going to regard change optimistically. A poor person’s idea of change might be to hit the lottery. A weak person would want strength. An ignorant person might want to be smart, but then again, I don’t know of any verifiably ignorant people who will admit to it so I will leave it at that. You get the idea. “Change” is a simplistic sound bite that people will make into whatever they want it to mean regardless of what Obama intends it to be. Second: Liberals have often stolen their opposing party’s most viable campaign slogan in order to keep them from using it. When John Kerry was running against President Bush he adopted the phrase: “It’s time to let America be America again” at one point. I regarded that as offensive to American sensibility because Liberal Senators like Kerry have been responsible for decades of changing this nation from one of faith, freedom, strength and prosperity into one of dependence, weakness and poverty that many older Americans hardly recognize. (I also found it curious that Kerry came up with that campaign slogan just after a Republican strategist’s laptop was stolen from campaign headquarters.) The only candidates who could rightfully suggest that it is time to let America be America again are Conservatives – certainly not career politicians or Liberals. Third: The last thing these truly socialist Liberals want is for voters to know their true agenda. Change is the last thing they want, so they use the term as a mask. Liberal Democrats have been promising to provide change in the form of ‘free’ health care, education and jobs for people who vote for them but after decades of implementing their liberal policies, the quality of life and education has worsened for those who fell for it. Just look at any Democratic stronghold. They are rife with crime and poverty. The longer the period of control of an area by socialist liberals the worse the conditions. Changes in policy would give power back to the people and the socialist Liberal machine would collapse. Democratic Primary Delegates chose Obama because he promised to lift their boat – not rock it.
