Unintended Consequences

Perhaps the most often thought yet seldom asked question American conservatives have wrestled with lately is: "Are Liberals stupid or do they know and anticipate the consequences of the policies they advance?"

Consider some recent controversies: The Episcopal Church has been split over the acceptance of gay clergy. For decades now, homosexual advocates like the Mattachine Society have fought to remove the social stigma that has plagued them throughout history. They aggressively lobbied anyone and everyone that had any influence in the realm of social engineering. They sought and gained positions of leadership in education, medicine, politics, media/entertainment and religion just to name a few.

Those of us who remember the days of "Ozzie and Harriet" can bear witness to the success of their campaign. At one point not long ago the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) achieved the same "not for profit" status as churches in New York under the Ultra-Liberal former governor Mario Cuomo. (Their status has since been repealed) Then there was the more widely publicized demand for acceptance of gay Boy Scout leaders.

Every Conservative in America could easily predict the consequences of these actions. Yet the same Liberals who promoted the homosexual revolution were the first to act shocked and decry the Church over the homosexual escapades that quite naturally followed.

It would be like hiring a kleptomaniac as a security guard in a store. A smart person wouldn't do that, right? Consider this analogy: What if, in his competitive zeal, the owner of Macy's used his power and influence to see to it that Filene's was forced to hire kleptomaniacs? Would he be considered smart,… selfishly, deviously enterprising? He couldn't credibly claim that he was surprised if Filene's suffered losses as a result. Would you accept Filene's losses as "unintended consequences"? That's what Liberal Democrats are asking us to believe.

They are trying to defeat President Bush and all things Conservative. They have had no luck in finding an issue that the polls say they can win on. So, with the help of their Liberal cohorts in places of influence throughout our society, they seek to undermine the success of his foreign policy. What Liberal Democrats are doing is unfolding before your eyes. They have emboldened terrorists by sniping at the President's Iraq policy! Do you see it? Or are you too busy watching NASCAR, or football or reality TV shows? Can you predict the results? Will you accept as "unintended consequences" the deaths of our soldiers and the perpetuation of terrorism and tyranny in your children's future?

Just a question …from a radical right-wing extremist after all. If it makes your head hurt, just click the remote and in a few minutes you'll feel right as rain again.
