To the Editor,

I recently heard Rush Limbaugh suggest one reason that Hillary may have accepted the position at the head of the State Department might be the platform by which she would be able to undermine the Obama Presidency in preparation for her next Presidential bid.

The State Department has been a source of leaks and policy disagreements that have served to undermine President Bush and Rush may have been speaking tongue-in-cheek but the relationship between The State Department and Mr. Obama will be one of collaboration. Mrs. Clinton has in effect been appointed President of our Shadow Government.

My view of The State Department stems from the defeat that McCarthy suffered when attempting to expunge communists from the bureaucracy under FDR and Truman. While some anti-American activities and Communists were exposed, others survived beyond McCarthy and they have grown. Never forget the axiom: That which doesn’t kill me makes me stronger. They defeated McCarthy not because he was wrong but because they already had a very effective consolidation of power and influence. McCarthy has been pilloried for half a century as an example of what anyone else will face if they dare to take a stand. Socialism has incrementally infested every major American institution, from education to the media and now banking. It’s almost as if it were all part of a fifty year plan. McCarthy and Reagan were temporary setbacks but with the election of Barack Obama, we most certainly have the potential for the final nail in Capitalism’s coffin. All they need to do is to get rid of those pesky First and Second Amendments.
